Government appoints Kravtsov as Ukrzaliznytsia chief

The government approved a respective decision on Thursday, according to the company's website.

"A global task is to transport everything produced in the domestic market. We need to get better services from Ukrzaliznytsia. We are giving Yevhen Kravtsov the mandate to form a professional board," Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman said.

The head of the supervisory board at Ukrzaliznytsya, Sevki Acuner, praised the government's decision to appoint Kravtsov head of the company and expressed hope that the joint efforts of the supervisory board and the board of the company will help approve Ukrzaliznytsia's development strategy and take urgent steps for its implementation in the shortest possible time.

Kravtsov joined Ukrzaliznytsia as advisor to the company's director general in 2015. Later on, he worked as director (for reform, property and legal policy), head of the department for reform and corporate development, member of the board, acting chairman of the board, as well as Ukraine's first deputy infrastructure minister and chairman of the supervisory board at PJSC Ukrzaliznytsia. In August 2017, Kravtsov returned to Ukrzaliznytsia and served as chairman of the board.
