Reva: 10 years needed to eliminate deficit of Pension Fund

Social Policy Minister Andriy Reva has stated that 10 years are needed to eliminate the deficit of the Pension Fund of Ukraine.

"When submitting a bill on pension reform, we stated and I mentioned the numbers: within 7-10 years from the launch of the reform it would be possible to reach the deficit-free budget of the Pension Fund. I see the same perspective even now, despite the fact that the situation in the Pension Fund remains rather complicated,” Reva said at a press conference, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

He also noted that "over 11 months of 2018, UAH 309.3 billion was transferred to the budget of the Pension Fund of Ukraine from all sources of financing, including own revenues totaling UAH 180, 7 billion, which is UAH 39.6 billion more compared with the corresponding period in 2017.”

As reported, the deficit of the Pension Fund is about UAH 140 billion per year.
