The budget of Kyiv city rose by UAH 2.7 billion in 2018 compared to the previous year.

Kyiv City Mayor Vitali Klitschko stated this when reporting on the results of 2018, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"Compared to 2017, the budget of our city grew by UAH 2.7 billion, which is very good. We continue to increase the budget, and I’m convinced that next year the budget of our city will also achieve surplus," said Klitschko.

According to him, almost two thirds of the budget in 2018 was spent on the social and cultural sphere: education, health care, social protection, culture and sports.

The mayor also noted that compared to the previous year, funding for education (UAH 2.7 billion), health care (UAH 1.2 billion) and social protection (UAH 900 million) grew the most.
