Natural gas production in Ukraine should be as open as possible in order to attract the best technologies from the USA, Germany and the Czech Republic.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman said this during a government meeting on Tuesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"It is very important for us to fully provide the state with gas. This will systematically change the situation, the formation of pricing in the country. We should be as open as possible so that the best technologies of the Czech Republic, the USA and Germany come to Ukraine," Groysman said.

According to him, the Government’s strategic task is to attract investments in the gas production and to increase production volumes.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian Energy and Coal Industry Minister Ihor Nasalyk stated that Ukraine’s natural gas production reduced by 1% in the first half of 2018. UkrGasVydobuvannya JSC revised the target plan and decreased the planned volume by 500 million cubic meters

According to the minister, one of the sources of increasing the domestic production output is the attraction of private and foreign investments in the oil and gas sector.

As reported, the Ukrainian government has announced 12 tenders for the conclusion of production sharing agreements in the oil and gas production sector.
