Omelyan: Almost UAH 50 bln invested in road construction in 2018

This year almost UAH 50 billion has been invested in the road construction, which is a record amount for Ukraine, according to Infrastructure Minister Volodymyr Omelyan.
The minister stated this during the inspection of road construction works in Zhytomyr region on November 10, the ministry’s press service reported.
“We have significantly succeeded due to the Road Fund and the fact that we have unity both in parliament and government regarding infrastructure issues, which have been determined as urgent. This year we have invested UAH 32.6 billion in road construction directly from the Road Fund. In fact, including all other sources of financing, it is almost UAH 50 billion - a record amount for Ukraine. Without the support of parliamentary parties, without the support of Ukraine’s political elite, it would be impossible,” Omelyan stressed.
