Local budgets to reach UAH 291 bln in 2019 - Zubko

He said this at the opening of a two-day investment conference for communities "Strategic Development and Investments" in Kyiv on Monday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"The growth of local budgets is exactly the powers that were transferred in 2014 and 2015. Their share is 52% in the new budget, it was not the case before [...] We see the prospect, and it is quite realistic - UAH 291 billion for 2019. We should close the year 2018 at a level of UAH 230 billion," Zubko said.

He stressed that the transfer of powers to the regions requires that local authorities understand the development of their community, create a respective strategy and attract investors to implement projects in strategic areas.

The event is organized by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Decentralization Offering Better Results and Efficiency (DOBRE) Program in partnership with the Program partner - the Ukrainian Crisis Media Center.

The conference brought together over 350 participants, including representatives of 75 community participants of the Program, representatives of business and investment funds, implementers of international technical assistance projects, central and regional authorities.
