Retail trade turnover in Ukraine rises 5.5% in January-September 2018

Retail trade turnover in Ukraine grew by 5.5% in January-September 2018 compared to the corresponding period in 2017, the State Statistics Service reports.

The biggest growth in retail trade turnover in January-September 2018 was recorded in the city of Kyiv (UAH 124.351 bln, a 3.2% growth), Dnipropetrovsk region (UAH 59.77 bln, a 6.6% growth) and Kharkiv region (UAH 51.4 bln, a 1% growth).

The lowest retail trade turnover in January-September 2018 was recorded in Luhansk region (UAH 5.794 bln; a 27.9% growth), Ternopil region (UAH 9.32 bln; a 8.8% growth) and Chernivtsi region (UAH 10.4 bln; a 1.2% growth).

In 2017, retail trade turnover in Ukraine grew by 8.8% from 2016 and reached UAH 816.55 billion.

Data provided by the State Statistics Service on retail trade turnover in Ukraine excluded the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the city of Sevastopol and some parts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
