Construction industry grows by more than 5% - Partskhaladze

In January-September 2018, Ukrainian enterprises completed construction works worth UAH 86.5 billion, which is 5.4% higher compared with the corresponding period in 2017, according to Deputy Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities Lev Partskhaladze.

“In the first nine months of 2018, Ukrainian enterprises carried out construction works worth almost UAH 87 billion, which is by more than 5% higher compared with the corresponding period last year. I hope that such a tendency will persist," he said, the deputy minister’s press service reports.

The index of the construction of engineering facilities over the reporting period made up 111.7%, construction of buildings 99.7% (non-residential buildings – 100.4%, residential buildings – 99%).

In the context of the regions, the leaders in performance of construction works were Odesa region (UAH 10.5 billion), Dnipropetrovsk region (UAH 8.5 billion), Kharkiv region (UAH 8.3), and the city of Kyiv (UAH 19.6 billion). The leaders in construction growth were Khmelnytskyi region (135.9%), Donetsk region (130.8%), Odesa region (130.1%) and Ivano-Frankivsk region (127.2%).

New construction, reconstruction, and technical re-equipment made up 74.9% of the total volume of completed construction works, major and current repairs – 16.1% and 9% respectively.
