Number of registered unemployed in Ukraine decreases

The number of registered unemployed at end-January 2018 totaled 378.9 thousand.

The number of registered unemployed in relation to the entire working-age population of Ukraine fell to 1.1% at the end of September 2018, while at the end of January this figure totaled 1.4%.

At the same time, the number of registered unemployed among the rural population decreased more significantly than among the urban population. As of the end of September 2018, 111.5 thousand unemployed were registered among the residents of villages, which is 38.6% less than at the end of January 2018. As of the end of September 2018, there were 175.6 thousand registered unemployed among urban residents, which is 11% less than at the end of January 2018.

As reported, according to the State Statistics Service, as of the end of September 2017, there were 303 thousand registered unemployed in the country.
