Ukraine decreases sugar exports in September – Ukrtsukor

Ukrainian sugar producers exported 11.1 thousand tonnes of sugar in September 2018, the press service of the Ukrtsukor National Association of Sugar Producers of Ukraine reports.

"In the first month of the current marketing year, Ukrainian sugar producers exported 11.1 thousand tonnes of sugar, which is half the amount exported over the previous month,” reads the report.

Head of the analytical department at Ukrtsukor, Ruslana Butylo, noted that Uzbekistan remains the main importer of Ukrainian sugar - 89% of all deliveries in September. Also, Ukrainian sugar was exported to Moldova (17%), Azerbaijan (8%), and Tajikistan (8%).

As reported, Ukrtsukor projected that sugar exports in the current marketing year would reach about 500 600 tonnes.

As of October 6, a total of 37 sugar refineries operated in Ukraine that had already produced 569.4 thousand tonnes of sugar.
