VR ratifies financial agreement with EIB on Ukrzaliznytsia modernization

The Verkhovna Rada has adopted the Law "On the Ratification of Financial Agreement (Ukrainian Railways Modernization Project (the modernization of PJSC Ukrzaliznytsia infrastructure) between Ukraine and the European Investment Bank”.
A total of 234 MPs voted in favor of presidential draft law No.0186, with at least 226 votes required to make a decision, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
In particular, the law creates the legal basis for attracting funds in the amount of EUR 150 million in the project on Ukrzaliznytsia modernization. These funds are intended to be directed, in particular, for electrification, modernization of signaling and communication systems and track development of the railroad segment leading to the ports of Mykolaiv, Odesa and Olbia.
At the same time, the implementation of the project will increase the carrying capacity of the Dolynska-Mykolaiv-Kolosivka railway line, which passes through the territory of Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv and Odesa regions.
