Lending volumes in Ukraine grow by almost 15% - expert

In the first half of 2018, Ukraine recorded an increase in the total volume of provided loans by 14.7% compared with the corresponding period of last year.

Representative of the Association of Financial Institutions Viktoria Volkovska said this at a press conference held in Ukrinform today.

"Non-governmental financial institutions granted loans to the population, as well as small and medium-sized businesses, in the amount of UAH 22 billion, which is 14.7% more than in the same period in 2017," she said.

The lessors concluded financial leasing contracts in the amount of UAH 11 billion, which is 92% more than in the same period last year.

The volume of factoring services provided by financial companies in the first half of the year increased by UAH 14 billion, showing an increase of 9.8% compared to 2017.

The insurance companies provided services to the population in the amount of UAH 8.6 billion (an increase of 22.7%), enterprises - UAH 7.7 billion (an increase of 15.6%).

Insurance payments to the population in the first half of 2018 amounted to UAH 3 billion, which is 25.2% more than in the first half of 2017. Insurance payments to enterprises in the first half of the year amounted to UAH 2.9 billion, which is 29.5% more than in the first half of 2017.
