Ukraine’s Government approves draft state budget for 2019

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the draft law on the state budget of Ukraine for 2019 and intended to submit it immediately to the Verkhovna Rada for consideration.

The decision was made at the Cabinet’s meeting on Friday evening, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"Indeed, it is a budget of the country's development. We continue implementation of the programs we started. They already give their first effect," Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman said.

In particular, the draft state budget for the next year stipulates the GDP growth at the level of 3% with 7.4% of inflation. “In other words, Ukrainians will have higher incomes, and the prices will be more stable," the Prime Minister said.

UAH 209.5 billion is allocated for security and defense of the state. The priorities are the repair of roads (up to UAH 56 billion is allocated for the Road Fund), development of the agro-industrial complex (UAH 6.9 billion) and the decentralization reform as UAH 41.4 billion is expected to be allocated for support for the regional projects.

In addition, the draft state budget provides UAH 242 billion for education and UAH 92.3 billion for health care system.

Pursuant to the document, the minimum wage is to grow up to UAH 4,170 starting from January 1, 2019.
