The International Monetary Fund states that the implementation of the pension reform in Ukraine has the expected effect.

Ukrainian Social Policy Minister Andriy Reva and the delegation of the IMF mission led by Ron van Rooden discussed the implementation of the pension reform in Ukraine, the Ministry’s press service reports following the meeting.

"The mission estimates that the reform has the effect which was expected and previously discussed," the statement reads.

It is noted that the IMF mission analyzed the new realities of the pension scheme and the extent to which they correspond to the previous forecasts of the reform authors.

"When the law on pension scheme was passed, we had some concerns about the adequacy of incentives which would encourage people to work longer, but now we see that you got on the right path," the Social Policy Ministry of Ukraine quotes Ron van Rooden as saying.

In addition, the parties touched upon the elaboration of a law on pension scheme for military personnel.
