Memorandum on EU’s macro-financial aid is good sign for talks with IMF – Klimkin
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin said this to journalists on Wednesday, September 12, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
"The memorandum [on macro-financial assistance to Ukraine] will be signed by Vice-President of the European Commission Valdis Dombrovskis, who arrives in Kyiv in the next few days ... The conditions are known, and everyone knows them… Of course, this assistance relates to the IMF, and I am sure that we will successfully complete all necessary negotiations. International financial institutions always act in clear coordination, and the signing of this memorandum is an important testimony to the fact that we are on a successful path in the framework of the completion of the entire block of negotiations," Klimkin said.
At the same time, he refused to say exact dates for the first tranche of the EU macro-financial assistance, only noting that "we are talking about this year."
As reported, Vice-President of the European Commission for the Euro, Social Dialogue, Financial Stability, Financial Services and Capital Markets Union Valdis Dombrovskis will arrive in Kyiv on September 13-14 to take part in the signing ceremony of the memorandum.
