Dacsa Bunge Ukraine will build a corn processing plant in Vinnytsia with the capacity of 100,000 tonnes per year, with investment estimated at $14 million, Head of Vinnytsia Regional State Administration Valeriy Koroviy has told an Ukrinform correspondent.

"We have completed negotiations with well-known American company Bunge, which, in partnership with Spanish group of companies Dacsa, will build a plant in Vinnytsia region to process corn into cereals and flour, with a design capacity of 100,000 tonnes per year. Estimated investment amounts to $14 million. It will be built in the village of Demkivka, Trostianets district, on an area of about three hectares," Koroviy said.

He clarified that special seeds would have to be grown in the region for the processing of corn into flour. It will be necessary to work with farmers so that this corn meets the necessary conditions, he added.

According to Koroviy, the construction of the enterprise is to begin in the fourth quarter of this year. It is to be commissioned in the fourth quarter of 2019.

The enterprise will process 300 tonnes of corn per day, or 100,000 tonnes per year. Some 80% of the products are to be exported.

The newly built enterprise will have storage capacity for corn (8,400 tonnes), by-products (900 tonnes), and main products (1,000 tonnes).

Dacsa Bunge Ukraine with share capital includes two companies. One of them is Dacsa Group (Dacsa Maicerias Espanolas S.A.), a leading European corn and rice processing company that processes around 800,000 tonnes of products at six plants. The company is headquartered in Valencia (Spain). The other is Bunge Ltd, a leading processor and exporter of agricultural products in the world. In Ukraine, it is one of the largest exporters of sunflower oil and cereals.
