JSC Ukrtransgaz and Polish Oil and Gas Company PGNiG SA have extended the contract on the storage of natural gas in Ukrainian underground gas storage facilities.

"The conclusion of a new agreement on storage will enable PGNiG to use the capacities of Ukrainian underground gas storage facilities," the Ukrtransgaz press service reports.

The company notes that signing of this agreement testifies to the fact that the respected international supplier highly appreciates the qualification, reliability and responsibility of the underground storage facilities’ operator Ukrtransgaz and is interested in the presence on the Ukrainian gas market, which has been developing steadily since 2015 when the law on natural gas market had been adopted.

PGNiG SA is the leader of the Polish gas market. PGNiG actively supplies natural gas to Ukraine, selling it on the border since 2016. In 2017, PGNiG supplied a record 700 million cubic meters of gas to the Ukrainian market.
