Ukrainian farmers already harvested almost 35 mln tonnes of grains

Ukrainian farmers have already trashed about 34.8 million tonnes of grain and leguminous crops, the press service of the Agrarian Policy Ministry reports.

"As of September 5, 34.8 million of grain and leguminous crops were trashed from an area of 10.0 million hectares (68% of the forecast) with a yield of 34.6 dt/ha," the ministry reports.

In particular, 34.3 million tonnes of early grain and leguminous crops were harvested from an area of 9.9 million hectares with a yield of 34.8 dt/ha, 46 thousand tonnes of buckwheat from an area of 36 thousand hectares with a yield of 12.8 dt/ha, 41 thousand tonnes of millet from an area of 26 thousand hectares with a yield of 16.0 dt/ha.

In addition, 1.6 million tonnes of sunflower seeds were trashed from an area of 804 thousand hectares (13%) with a yield of 19.6 dt/ha and 225 thousand tonnes of soybeans from an area of 92 thousand hectares (5%) with a yield of 24.5 dt/ha.

Also, farmers gathered 2.7 million tonnes of rapeseed from the area of 1.0 million hectares with a yield of 26.1 dt/ha.

Together with harvesting, Ukrainian agrarians have started to sow rapeseed for the 2019 harvest.

Of the projected 888 thousand hectares, 741 thousand hectares have already been sown with rapeseed (483% to the forecast).
