Ukraine reduces oil and gas transit this year
"According to recent reports, in January-July of this year, 50.9 bcm of natural gas were transported through the territory of Ukraine, which is 2.3 bcm (or 4.3%) less than for the same period in 2017," the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine reported.
The Energy and Coal Industry Ministry also provided statistics on oil transportation.
According to the report, during the seven months of this year, the volume of oil transportation by the enterprises of main oil pipelines decreased by 211,500 tonnes (or by 2.3%) in comparison with the same period of 2017. At the same time, the volume of oil transit to the countries of Western Europe (Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Poland, Moldova) was 284,400 tonnes (or 3.6%) less in comparison with the same indicator in 2017, and for the needs of Ukraine – 72,900 tonnes (or 6.5%) more.
As reported, the volume of gas transit through Ukrainian gas transportation system to European consumers in 2017 was 93.5 billion cubic meters, which was 13.7% more than in the same period in 2016.
