"As of August 20, early grain and leguminous crops were gathered from an area of 9.8 million hectares (99% of the forecast) with a yield of 34.7 dt/ha, about 34.1 million tonnes of new grain crops were trashed," the ministry reports.
In particular, 24.3 million tonnes of winter wheat have been already harvested from 6.4 million hectares (99.8%) with a yield of 38.0 dt/ha; 637 thousand tonnes of spring wheat - from 181 thousand hectares (92%) with a yield of 35.2 dt/ha; 3.1 million tonnes of winter barley - from 871.8 thousand hectares (100%) with a yield of 35.3 dt/ha; 4.4 million tonnes of spring barley - from 1.6 million hectares (99%) with a yield of 27.5 dt/ha.
Also, agrarians have already trashed 386 thousand tonnes of rye from 145 thousand hectares (98%) with a yield of 26.6 dt/ha; 423 thousand tonnes of oats from 182 thousand hectares (92%) with a yield of 23.2 dt/ha; 795 thousand tonnes of peas from 428 thousand hectares (98%) with a yield of 18.6 dt/ha.
In addition, 2.5 million tonnes of winter rapeseed were gathered from 969,000 hectares (99.8%) with a yield of 26.3 dt/ha and 86,000 tonnes of spring rapeseed from 43,000 hectares (65 %) with a yield of 20.3 dt/ha.
Together with harvesting, Ukrainian agrarians have started to sow rapeseed for the 2019 harvest. Of the projected 888 thousand hectares, 401 thousand hectares have already been sown with rapeseed (45% to the forecast).
