Ukraine, UAE to implement common investment projects

Ukraine and the United Arab Emirates will implement common investment projects in the fields of energy efficiency and renewable energy.

The corresponding memorandum was signed on Friday, August 17, the Governmental portal reported.

"Through cooperation, we will exchange experience and promote the implementation of common investment projects in the fields of energy efficiency, "clean" energy and waste processing," Chairman of the State Energy Efficiency Agency Serhiy Savchuk said.

As known, the UAE has significant resources of oil and gas, but it is actively developing "clean" energy. Thus, the goal of the UAE Energy Strategy until 2050 is to achieve at least 44% of "clean" energy in the energy balance.

In addition, the world-known International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) is located Abu Dhabi, and Ukraine became IRENA's 155th member state in 2018.
