Farmers in Odesa region already harvested 3 mln tonnes of grains

Head of the agrarian policy department at Odesa Regional State Administration Ivan Petriv told this to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"Farmers of the region are completing harvesting. As of July 19, 3 million tonnes of grains were threshed. Early grain and leguminous crops were collected from 97% of the sown area. Most farms in the southern districts of Odesa, in particular Izmailskyi, Kiliiskyi Bolhradskyi, Tatarbunarskyi districts have already completed the harvesting of early grain crops," Petriv said.

According to him, an average yield of grains is 37 centners per ha. At the same time, the best figures were recorded in Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi, Saratskiy and Tatarbunarskyi districts, while the lowest yield of grain crops was seen in Biliaivskyi, Reniiskyi and Izmailskyi districts.

"We expect to harvest about 4 million tonnes of grains this year," Petriv said.
