Trade volume between Ukraine and China reached $7.7 bln in 2017

"In 2017, the volume of bilateral trade between Ukraine and China was $7.7 billion - an increase of 18% compared to the previous year. The growth trend continues in the current year - for the first quarter of 2018 the bilateral trade amounted to about $2 billion, or 18.7% more than the same period of the last year," First Vice Prime Minister - Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Stepan Kubiv said.
The minister adds that Ukraine's participation in the China International Import Expo-2018, which will be held in Shanghai in November 2018, will facilitate the improvement of bilateral business contacts.
"Ukraine for the first time will present its national stand at this international exhibition, and I am sure that after this exhibition Ukrainian products will get even bigger share in China's imports. According to the expectations of the Chinese colleagues, their imports will be $24 trillion in five years," Kubiv said.
He urged the Chinese companies to cooperate with their Ukrainian counterparts to implement joint projects in the field of solar energy, agriculture, infrastructure, in particular port infrastructure.
