Ukraine exports 39.4 mln tonnes of grains in 2017-2018 marketing year

Ukraine exported 39,375 thousand tonnes of grain crops in the 2017-2018 marketing year, according to preliminary data released by the Agrarian Policy Ministry.

In particular, 17,139 thousand tonnes of wheat, 4,289 thousand tonnes of barley, and 17.739 thousand tonnes of corn were exported.

In addition, 412.6 thousand tonnes of flour were exported in the 2017-2018 marketing year.

On July 1, 2018, the 2018/2019 marketing year has begun that will last until June 30, 2019.

As reported, grain harvest amounted to 61.28 million tonnes in Ukraine in 2017, which is 4.7 million tonnes less than in 2016.

According to the State Statistics Service, Ukraine last year threshed 26.1 million tonnes of wheat. with the yield being 41.1 dt/ha, 24.1 million tonnes of corn (54.4 dt/ha), 8.3 million tonnes of barley (33.1 dt/ha), 506.8 thousand tonnes of rye (29.7 dt/ha), 471 thousand tonnes of oats (23.9 dt/ha), 180 thousand tonnes of buckwheat (9.8 dt/ha), 1.1 million tonnes of peas (26.5 dt/ha), and 63.9 thousand tonnes of rice (50.5 dt/ha).

An average grain yield made up 42.3 dt/ha.

Grain and leguminous crops were harvested from an area of 14.6 million hectares.
