Ukrainian PM calls on Europe to prevent construction of Nord Stream 2

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman calls on Europe to prevent implementation of the Nord Stream 2 project.
"We must demonstrate political will and unity in order to prevent the implementation of the project, which will make many European countries energy dependent," Groysman said at the Ukraine Reform Conference in Copenhagen on Wednesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
He assured that Ukraine could ensure reliable and uninterrupted transit of natural gas to its European partners.
"We have second or third largest deposits in Europe. We are a gas country. However, the closed nature of this system and corruption manifestations have kept us away from believing in this potential. We have simplified the fiscal policy in this area greatly and have taken deregulation measures," the Head of Government noted.
