"The EU-Ukraine Summit will be held in two weeks. Of course, energy will be one of the most important issues," the Vice President of the European Commission for the Energy Union Maros Sefcovic said at the international high-level conference on development of the Ukrainian electric power sector on Friday in Brussels, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
At the same time, he stressed that the electric power sector was an important factor in deepening cooperation between the European Union and Ukraine and in strengthening the energy security.
Sefcovic also underscored the important role of Ukraine in the transit supply of Russian gas to the countries of Central and Eastern Europe.
As a reminder, the 20th EU-Ukraine Summit will be held in Brussels on July 9.
