Ukrainian agricultural exports to EU countries grow by $145 mln

In January-April 2018, the foreign trade turnover in agricultural and food products between Ukraine and the European Union member states increased by almost 14% compared to the corresponding period last year and totaled $2.8 billion. In particular, the agricultural exports to the EU countries during this time increased by $145 million compared to 2017 and totaled $1.9 billion.

"I’m glad to note the stable growth of bilateral trade in agricultural and food products between Ukraine and the European Union. Today, the main EU’s import tariff quotas for Ukrainian honey, malt and wheat gluten, processed tomatoes, grape juice and apple juice, corn, wheat and flour have been completely filled," said Ukraine’s Deputy Minister for Agrarian Policy and Food on European Integration Olha Trofimtseva, the Ministry’s press service reports.

According to the official, Ukrainian grain crops (their exports to the EU amounted to $749.5 million), oil ($370.9 million), oilseeds ($194.3 million), food-industry waste and residues ($177.2 million), meat and edible offal of poultry ($76.4 million) enjoy the greatest demand among the European consumers.
