The eighth meeting of the Ukrainian-Czech mixed intergovernmental commission on economic, industrial and scientific and technical cooperation was held in Prague.

The meeting was chaired by Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Kistion and Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic Tomáš Hüner, the Governmental portal reported.

"The parties discussed key areas - trade, industry, energy. This cooperation is in the mutual interests of Ukraine and the Czech Republic. The sides agreed to facilitate the organization of the production of agricultural machinery in Ukraine and the expansion of export-import supplies of agricultural products," the report reads.

In addition, the representatives of both countries agreed to deepen cooperation in automotive industry, which had been successfully developed for many years in the territory of Ukraine with the assistance of Czech investments.

The Czech Republic is among important trade and economic partners of Ukraine in Europe. According to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, foreign trade turnover of goods and services between countries in 2017 amounted to USD 1.7 billion and grew by 29.2% as compared to 2016.
