
Ukrainian-Danish trade turnover increased by 14.4% last year
Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark to Ukraine Ruben Madsen said this during a meeting of Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman with representatives of Danish companies that work in Ukraine, the Government portal reports.
"We are very pleased with this meeting, and we praise your aspirations for carrying out reforms to secure economic growth and attract investments," the ambassador said.
It is noted that the meeting participants discussed a number of issues of mutual cooperation, examined specific cases of work of Danish companies in Ukraine and agreed that the transformations Ukraine currently experiences are obvious and tangible.
The Prime Minister invited the Danish business to take a closer look at the privatization opportunities in Ukraine and to develop innovative directions in pharmaceuticals, logistics, processing of agriculture products, energy and tourism industries.
According to the Government, upon the results of 2017, the total trade turnover in goods and services between Ukraine and Denmark increased by 14.4% and amounted to $540.6 million. More than 150 Danish companies currently work in Ukraine, in particular in the field of agricultural production, logistics and trade. The main sectors of the Danish business in Ukraine are agriculture, IT, energy and consumer goods industry.
The volume of Danish investments in the Ukrainian economy at the beginning of the year was almost $150 million. Denmark is among promising markets for exports of Ukrainian products. The main items of Ukrainian exports to Denmark are textiles, furniture, clothing, milk, eggs, honey, metals, engineering products.
