About UAH 90 billion will be invested in modernization of Ukrainian infrastructure this year.

Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Kistion said this at the opening of Ukrainian Ports Forum 2018, the Government portal reports.

"The Government of Ukraine strongly supports and will support the public-private partnership projects that contribute to attracting investments for the modernization of Ukrainian ports. Six investment projects in the ports of Odesa region are now at different stages of implementation. A few more promising concession projects will be presented within the framework of today's forum," Kistion said.

According to him, the seaports of Ukraine play a key role in the development of Ukrainian economy and provide up to 45% of export-import operations of Ukraine's foreign trade. The total revenue generated by the market of services in the seaports of Ukraine, according to the latest estimates, totaled $1.7 billion, which equals 2% of the country's GDP.

He said that it was planned to implement 46 projects on development of seaports with the involvement of investors, the aggregate value of which is almost UAH 44 billion, by 2030.
