Delegation of U.S. Coast Guard praises development of security measures in Ukrainian ports

Representatives of the U.S. Coast Guard have made an observation visit to the Ukrainian seaports and underscored the success of Ukraine in implementation of the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code.

This is reported by the press service of the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.

"The relevance and importance of the ongoing dialogue between the U.S. Coast Guard, the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine and the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority on improvement of port security measures is the unique opportunity for inviting a team of highly qualified specialists from the International Port Security Program to share knowledge, experience and best practices applied worldwide. In turn, the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority is interested in the implementation of the appropriate model for managing the maritime security system in the ports," Chairman of the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority Raivis Veckagans said.

During the visit, the delegation underscored the significant success of Ukraine in implementation of the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code, which is a key indicator of effective international port security measures.
