Parliament intends to simplify access to agricultural lands for Ukrainian famers

The Verkhovna Rada approved in the first reading the bill “On amendments to the land code of Ukraine and certain legislative acts of Ukraine on stimulating the creation and development of family farms and eliminating corrupt abuse in the sphere of disposal of the state and municipal property land”.
A total of 230 MPs voted for the adoption of bill No.7060 as a basis, with at least 226 votes required to make the decision, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
In particular, the bill is aimed at creating more favorable conditions for the acquisition by Ukrainian citizens of agricultural land plots of state and municipal property for farming so that to create and develop family farms.
The draft law also aims to reduce corruption in land relations by introducing significant restrictions on the use and encumbrances of real rights to land plots that were acquired in private ownership through free privatization from state and municipal property lands, as well as land plots received not through auctions.
