"Today, at the forum, we express a consolidated stance on the need to address problems in the agricultural sector which are associated with the unfavorable legislation," said deputy chairman of the All-Ukrainian Agrarian Council Denys Marchuk, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
During the panel discussions, the participants also touch upon the prospects for opening the land market and aspects of protection against takeover attempts, increasing duties on the import of fertilizers from Russia, business optimization measures, financing instruments and risk management. The conference will also focus on the state support for the agricultural sector this year.
The event is attended by representatives of the key ministries, members of the Parliament of Ukraine, representatives of embassies, international organizations (USAID, IFC, IMF, World Bank, EBRD) and the media.
