The economic effect from the work of the Energy Efficiency Fund will help reduce the consumption and import of natural gas to ten billion cubic meters and increase the annual capacity of the new energy efficiency market to UAH 60 billion.

Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities Hennadiy Zubko stated this on Friday, according to the government website.

"It is important for us to introduce effective tools that will influence the percentage of energy savings. One of such tools is the Energy Efficiency Fund. The economic effect from its work will help reduce the consumption and import of gas to ten billion cubic meters, increase the annual capacity of the new energy efficiency market to UAH 60 billion, new tax revenues each year to UAH 10 billion, and create 75,000 new jobs - for engineering and construction personnel, energy service industry and energy management," Zubko said.

According to the deputy prime minister, the main condition for effective work of the Energy Efficiency Fund is qualified staff - energy auditors, project organizations, energy service companies and, most importantly, the demand from municipalities that want to make their social institutions energy-efficient and help the population implement energy-efficient measures in the residential sector.
