Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine Hugues Mingarelli said this during a meeting with Chairman of Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration Kostiantyn Bryl, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
"The EU is extremely interested in providing assistance for the implementation of reforms, in particular, decentralization. We pay great attention to the energy efficiency sector, in which the EU is ready to invest about 100 million euros. We are also developing a program worth about 50 million euros to support internally displaced persons to help them get not only housing but also jobs. If Zaporizhzhia region is interested, I am ready to help and tell you how to get the money. Another important direction, which is being prepared for implementation in Ukraine, is support for the reform of vocational education. At present, this project is being developed jointly with Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Lilia Hrynevych. I believe that Zaporizhzhia as an industrial city will also be interested in this direction," Mingarelli stressed.
He said that he had come to Zaporizhzhia region in order to establish contact with local authorities, because there is no permanent representation of the EU in Zaporizhzhia region. Within the framework of the visit, Mingarelli also met with Mayor of Zaporizhzhia Volodymyr Buriak and leaders of the united territorial community.
