The IT industry in Ukraine has grown by 20% over the past year.

Ukraine's Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman said this during a meeting with representatives of the leading IT companies of Ukraine, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Ukraine's IT sector grew by 20% over the past year. This year we have the same growth plans. Ukrainian intellectual potential is very high in the world. Ukraine has contributed into many international technology products," Groysman said.

According to him, last year the IT industry brought the country $3.6 billion in export revenue. The share of the IT industry in the country's GDP amounted to about 3.4%.

"As of early 2018, the industry employed more than 120,000 developers and engineers. Their number is growing rapidly," the head of the government added.

Groysman notes that another deregulation meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers is scheduled for May. "We will continue to abolish a lot of unnecessary regulations and to make necessary decisions, especially for the IT sector," he said.
