Deposit Guarantee Fund repays UAH 900 mln to NBU

The Deposit Guarantee Fund has repaid UAH 900 million to the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU). The repayment was ahead of schedule, the Fund’s press service reports.
“The Deposit Guarantee Fund on April 4, 2018 made another early repayment of part of the loan to the National Bank of Ukraine in the amount of UAH 900 million. The early repayment of debt was carried out due to the successful sale of insolvent banks’ assets, which allowed the Fund to accumulate a sufficient amount of funds,” reads the report.
The press service reminded that the Fund over the past eight months had made early repayment of part of the loan to the NBU in the amount of UAH 5.6 billion, including UAH 3.6 billion in 2018.
As of April 5, 2018, overall debts of the Fund made up UAH 63,342.9 million, including UAH 2,884.3 million of loan debts to the NBU and UAH 59,558,6 of debts on bills (to the Finance Ministry).
