Economic Development Ministry forecasts annual rise in utility tariffs until 2021

The Economic Development and Trade Ministry of Ukraine forecasts that housing and utility tariffs for different types of services in Ukraine will rise annually from 10 to 22% until 2021.

This is stated in the macroeconomic forecasting published in the monthly issue "Ukraine: Perspectives of the Development (Consensus Forecast)” as of April 2018.

According to the ministry, prices for natural gas are expected to rise by 20% annually within the next three years.

Also, hot water and heating tariffs are expected to grow by 10% in 2019, by 11 % in 2020, and by 20% in 2021. Electricity is expected to rise in price by 22.5% in 2019, by 15% in 2020, and by 12.5% in 2021, the ministry said.

“Ukraine: Perspectives of the Development (Consensus Forecast)” is a publication developed by the department of macroeconomic forecasting of the Economic Development and Trade Ministry of Ukraine. The purpose of the document is to develop recommendations for economic policy to ensure a stable and balanced economic growth of Ukraine and macroeconomic forecasting of possible scenarios of the country's development.
