Groysman: Government developing a new formula of natural gas price

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman stated this on a Ukrainian TV channel, the government’s press service reports.

"Prices have not been raised in this heating season. I have kept my word. But for the future we should find a new formula that will prevent biased prices within the country. We should take into account the social aspect and social factor that may influence on the deterioration in the quality of life of citizens," Groysman said.

As reported, among the priorities of the current government's work is the increase of own gas production, which would eliminate the need in gas imports and would enable Ukraine to set the price within the country without binding to import parities. In particular, the government aims to reduce to the minimum the volume of gas imports by 2020 and increase the volume of own gas production that would be sufficient to meet the needs of Ukrainian consumers.
