Groysman: UAH 38 bln in additional funding to be allocated for regional development

The government will allocate UAH 38 billion in additional funding for regional development this year.

Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman said this in Vinnytsia at an expanded governmental meeting on decentralization and regional development, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"We estimated that apart from the resources already allocated to local communities, we are transferring [UAH] 38 billion in additional funding for regional development, for roads, for the social and economic development of territories. These are huge resources that we have to combine with you, but the goal must be common,” he said.

Among the participants in the meeting are President Petro Poroshenko, government members, heads of regional administrations, councils and territorial communities, city mayors, heads of foreign diplomatic missions, regional reform offices, representatives of the Association of Ukrainian Cities, the Association of Regional and District Councils, the All-Ukrainian Association of Rural and Village Councils, international organizations, experts.
