The European Commissioner for the Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs, Elżbieta Bieńkowska, will pay a visit to Kyiv on March 27.

The prime objective of the visit is to discuss with Ukrainian officials and business representatives the progress of reforms, the potential of EU-Ukraine industry and priorities for bilateral industrial and economic cooperation.

According to the EU press release, Commissioner Bieńkowska will meet with Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman and First Vice Prime Minister Stepan Kubiv, with whom she will open the 2nd EU-Ukraine High-Level Industrial and Regulatory Dialogue.

The event puts emphasis on cooperation between both partners, fostering convergence between the EU and Ukrainian regulations on specific issues, such as the automotive industry, textiles, raw materials, technical barriers to trade and public procurement.

It also promotes enhanced cooperation on issues such as SME strategy and clusters and Ukraine's participation in key EU programmes, such as the Competitiveness of Enterprises and Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (COSME) and Horizon 2020.
