France to allocate half a million euros for restoration of Donbas

France will finance the restoration of a school in Krasnohorivka and the repair of a water pumping station in Popasna.

France's Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian stated this at a meeting with Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin in Kyiv, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"France will finance two projects carried out by the International Committee of the Red Cross in Donbas. The first project concerns the restoration of a school in Krasnohorivka (29 km west of Donetsk), the second - the restoration of a reservoir at the water pumping station in Popasna (90 km north-west of Luhansk)," the French minister said.

In addition, he said that France had decided to provide financial assistance to two non-governmental humanitarian organizations in the amount of half a million euros to implement projects related to food security of the local population in Donbas.

As reported, on March 22-23, Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs of France Jean-Yves Le Drian in on a working visit to Ukraine.
