Poroshenko invites Kuwaiti business to participate in privatization in Ukraine

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko held a meeting with Prime Minister of Kuwait Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, the president’s press service reported on Sunday evening.

“Petro Poroshenko told the Kuwaiti side that it could be involved in the implementation of mutually beneficial projects in Ukraine, in particular in the agriculture and energy sectors. He also invited Kuwaiti business to participate in the process of privatization of state enterprises,” reads the report.

The parties discussed possibilities for stepping up cooperation on promising directions in the trade-economic, energy and military-technical spheres. Special attention was paid to the issues of further expansion of investment cooperation between Ukraine and Kuwait.

Also, it was agreed to hold a meeting of the intergovernmental commission in Kyiv in 2018.

In addition, the parties welcomed the agreement on a significant simplification of the visa regime between the two countries.

President Poroshenko invited the Kuwaiti Prime Minister to visit Ukraine.

As earlier reported, President Petro Poroshenko is on an official state visit to Kuwait on March 18-19.

During the talks between Poroshenko and the Emir of Kuwait, the agreement was reached on simplifying the visa regime on the basis of reciprocity and including Ukraine on the list of countries whose citizens are eligible to obtain visas upon arrival at the international airport of Kuwait or electronically.
