Ukraine will supply its newest unmanned aerial vehicles for the needs of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the United Arab Emirates, and the respective agreement was reached between Spetstechnoexport and the UAE.

Ukraine's Ambassador to the UAE Yuriy Polurez said this in an interview with Ukrinform.

"Agreement was reached during the UMEX exhibition of unmanned aerial vehicles, which took place in Abu Dhabi on February 25-27, that the state-owned Spetstechnoexport will supply Ukrainian drones for the needs of the General Staff of the UAE," the diplomat said.

Polurez also spoke about the interest from the United Arab Emirates and other countries in the region to Ukrainian-made aircraft. "Ukraine was very powerfully represented at the Dubai Air Show. It exhibited two aircraft, An-70 and An-132, and two upgraded Motor Sich helicopters. There is interest, and objectively, it is only growing," the ambassador said.

The diplomat drew attention to the fact that during the war with Russia, Ukraine had done a lot to find a replacement for those components that were produced jointly with Russia.

"So now we are extremely interesting to foreign markets, since there is already no situation when it was necessary to negotiate with a third party," the diplomat said.

He said that the Antonov State Enterprise and the UAE side were closely cooperating with respect to aircraft modernization and that now experts from both sides continued to consider launching new interesting projects.

"I can confirm that there is indeed a potential in joint aircraft construction, because the demand for such aircraft produced by Antonov is very great, both in the world and in the region, especially if we take into account the price and quality ratio," Polurez said.
