Ukraine, Denmark sign agreement on further cooperation within energy center

Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Ihor Nasalyk and Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark to Ukraine Ruben Madsen signed an agreement on further cooperation in the development and activities of the Ukrainian-Danish Energy Center (UDEC).

This was reported by the Governmental portal.

"I highly appreciate the support of the Kingdom of Denmark in the next stage of the Danish Neighborhood Program for 2017-2021, the official launch of which was announced by Foreign Minister of Denmark Anders Samuelsen during his visit to Ukraine. The program aims to promote economic development, strengthen institutional capacity, increase energy efficiency and attract investments. In turn, I am pleased to announce the launch of the second stage of the Ukrainian-Danish Energy Center Project," Nasalyk said during the signing of the agreement.

He stressed that cooperation within the framework of the Ukrainian-Danish Energy Center was effective and efficient, and he expressed hope for a successful implementation of the second phase of the project.

"At the second stage of our cooperation, we need to attract Danish investors to work in Ukraine, and the Ukrainian-Danish Energy Center will act as a platform for dialogue and cooperation with business representatives, investors, authorities in order to attract investments in the energy sector projects," the minister said.

He informed the Danish side that the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry was ready to begin cooperation with the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA) under the Danida Finance program and the Danish Investment Fund for Developing Countries (IFU).
