Ukraine cut gas consumption by 4% in 2017

In 2017, the natural gas consumption in Ukraine decreased by 1.3 billion cubic meters as compared to 2016: from 33.2 to 31.9 billion cubic meters.

This is reported by the press service of the NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine.

As stated, the gas consumption was distributed between the categories as follows: the population and religious organizations consumed 15.8 billion cubic meters, state-financed institutions - 500 million cubic meters, district heating providers (to produce heat for the needs of state-financed institutions and industrial facilities) – 1 billion cubic meters, industrial facilities – 9.1 billion cubic meters. In addition, 4.4 billion cubic meters of gas was used for technological expenses and production of liquefied gas.

At the same time, as compared to 2016, the population and religious organizations reduced gas consumption by 1.8 billion cubic meters of gas, heating providers - by 600 million cubic meters, and industrial facilities - by 600 million cubic meters. The technological expenses increased by 600 million cubic meters.
