Government to introduce new mechanisms to support innovations in Ukraine - Groysman

The Government intends in the near future to introduce new mechanisms to support innovative projects.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman said this at the conference on digital economy, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"We will introduce new mechanisms to support innovations and start-ups in Ukraine," Groysman said.

He notes that the situation in this area has significantly improved recently, but it is necessary to ensure that the digital economy develops rapidly.

"In this competitive world, we should be very fast and mobile, and this depends both on the government and regulation and on the conditions that we can create for the development of the real sector of the economy and other fields," the PM said.

He assures that the Government is actively working with scientists on this issue, and a scientific and technical council has been already formed. "This council will develop solutions that allow us to build a high-quality system for science management and to create real mechanisms for transfers of scientific developments to the real sector of the economy," Groysman said.

He also recalls that the state budget for 2018 includes funds for the development of innovations.
