Ukraine completes cleaning of financial system - Poroshenko

Ukraine completes the cleaning of the financial system from insolvent banks by taking steps supported by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and other international partners.
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said this in his speech in Davos at the Ukrainian Breakfast organized by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"We have taken very important steps to strengthen the financial system in order to clean it up from 'dirty banks.' I am proud that now we are finishing [this process]. We have nominated new candidates for the governor of the National Bank, and this is supported by the IMF and our international partners," Poroshenko said.
He added that decisive steps were being taken in Ukraine to speed up reforms, and "this is extremely important to us."
