Imports of cheese into Ukraine exceed exports for the first time

In 2017, the volume of imported cheese into Ukraine became for the first time larger than the volume of exported products of this commodity group. In particular, 10,000 tons of cheese were imported, while 9,050 tons were exported.

Such data was released by the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine.

The cost of imported cheese in 2017 was USD 47.1 million, and that of exported – USD 32.5 million. The negative balance in favor of imports was $14.6 million.

In 2016, 7,000 tons of cheese were imported (worth USD 29.8 million), and 8,000 tons were exported (worth 24.3 million). The negative balance in favor of imports in the amount of USD 5.5 million was for the first time recorded in 2016.
