Poroshenko hopes 2018 budget will be adopted this week

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said he expects the Verkhovna Rada to approve the state budget for 2018 this week.

He stated this, while speaking at the second All-Ukrainian Forum of United Communities "Life-Changing Initiatives," an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"With joint efforts, I hope that we have great chances that the law on the state budget for 2018 will be adopted in the Verkhovna Rada this week," he said.

He recalled that the draft budget provides for a further increase in the revenue base of local budgets.

In addition, Poroshenko said, from January 1, 2018, 5% of rental payment for the use of subsoil will be transferred to local budgets.

The president also stressed that a subvention of almost UAH 2 billion for the formation of infrastructure of united territorial communities was planned for next year. In general, state support for local government projects will amount to UAH 18.5 billion next year, Poroshenko said.
